A Study on the Fatigness of Primary School Teachers

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to define the complaints of physical and mental symptoms of fatigness among the primary school teachers working school and house. The data were sampled from 14.0 teachers at three primary school, Pusan, from the 1st to 31st May, 1994.1n. order to measure the subjective complaints of fatigue. The investigators applied on application form of fatigue designed and corrected by Brodman and Wechsler , Medical Cornel Index.
The evaluation form. of fatigue contains two samples; physical and mental, total 47 items. Each items analyzed into percentage and tested t-test and ANOVA with SAS.
The results of this study were as follows;
1. 60.2 % of teachers among 140 teachers complained "I am tired almost everyday or very often". 53.3 % of them felt tired most on Tuesday during the week(%). Teachers thought the causes of fatigness were ¡Æsevere school and house work and over working". Recovering method of fatigness was "rest sufficiently and get moderate exercise" (62.1%). 43 teachers response that "the fatigness will be a severe problem for good health"
2. The highest percentage of fatigue complains was observed on the items of "feel sickness of whole body" in physical symptoms as 77.5%, and then "still fatigue next morning" were 75.5%, feel sick and tired" were 63.3%, "feel tired on eyes were 40.6% and "feel headache" were 39.9%.
3. The highest complaint was observed on the items of mentally, "difficult to concentrate of thinking" were 63.3%, "become hysterically" were 42%, "get anger easily" were 38.5%, "don¢¥t like speak anything" were 33.6% and "suppressed with sudden noisy" were 25.9%.
4. The t-test and ANOVA between complaints for fatigness and variables are as follows;
(1) There was meaningful differences between age and mental complaints. (p=0.043)
(2) Meaningful differences between sex and physical, mental complaints. (p=0.002, p 0.005)
(3) Meaningful differences between school attendance and Physical, mental complaints (p=0.00, p=0.007)
(5) Meaningful differences between experiences of fatigness and physical, mental complaints (p=0.000, P=0. 000)
